ABOUT

Louis Kerckhof (°1994, Ghent) is a visual artist based in Ghent, Belgium. He is best known for his portrait and fashion photography.

His driving motivation in his work is to make a connection with the person he photographs and to capture them in a space where they feel comfortable to create an intimate environment.
Besides that, identity, gender and queer are recurring themes in his work and he is driven to photograph social changes in society that are also related to these themes.

His latest project, also his graduation project, is called ‘QUEER WE ARE’ and focuses on a queer community that is ever changing and getting larger by the day. This series was also published in his first book ‘QUEER WE ARE’ and got an award from ‘de Nationale Vereniging van Beroepsfotografen’ during his final graduation expo.
